Happy 4th of July! It’s going to be a hot one today. Like yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, and tomorrow….ugh…
The weather will not stop the celebration: today people will be celebrating all over the country with picnics, cookouts, barbecues, festivals and fireworks. (Please be careful – I heard that the sparks from sparklers can start serious fires this year with the dry grass.)
Today we will be hanging out with Admiral Bodee and some of his family and friends. My food is ready and I have water balloons and tie-dye supplies for all the kids (and any interested adults). We’ll also be watching the fireworks from his new hot tub (hopefully it’s not too hot!)
When I tried to think of my approach for today’s blog, it came to me almost instantly. In this country we are blessed with freedoms that many do not have. We have those freedoms because of brave men and women throughout history.
Today I can blog because I have the freedom of speech. I am able to do something I’ve always dreamed of doing because I am free from the walls that have surrounded me and kept me from living the happiest life I could. I made a brave move a few months ago and put myself out there – out here – and I am so glad that I did.
Happy 4th of July! Be safe and enjoy the day!
Hope you had a fun 4th
We did! Our shirts turned out great. The water balloon fight was a riot and the hot tub was…well, kinda too hot for a 100 degree day but we sat on the edge with cold drinks. It was a great day! Thank you!
